1982 BC Rich Mockingbird Bass! $2799.99 What a cool bass! During the 70s and 80s, Bernie Rico was at the top of his game. Handcrafting some of the finest rock guitars of the era, these early BC Rich instruments are very popular among collectors. This Mockingbird bass is a great example of the breed. Made in the USA to the highest standards of quality. The pot codes read 1981 and the serial number shows 86 with a low 3 digit sequence number. As BC Rich fans know, dating these things is not an exact science. 1982 is my educated guess on the year of manufacture. This Mockingbird has all of the coolest features. The body looks to be Koa with a neck through section of Koa or mahogany with maple stringers. Dual Dimarzio P pickups are hooked to a variety of switches for a variety of tones. Grover tuners and an adjustable bridge keep it rock solid. The finish is a gorgeous transparent natural and is set off by a gold bridge and chrome tuners. An incredible bass! 1978 Greco EG600PB Frampton! SOLD! Greco comes alive! Many players love the look, feel and tone of their Japanese made guitars. A lot of folks feel that Grecos were the best made and most accurate guitars of the copy era. Greco guitars were seldom seen in the states but enormously popular in Japan. Greco was so good that Fender ended up using them to build the famous JV series Japanese Strats. The Fijugenn Gakki plant produced most of Greco's highest regarded guitars and would continue to produce Fender's popular reissue Strats and Teles. Incredible quality and attention to detail in these guitars. Here's a very cool Greco EG 600 model. A very cool recreation of Frampton's famous axe. It's hard to find exact specs on these guitars but I'll assume the construction is the same as a Gibson. Probably a mahogany body with a maple top. Maple or mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. A trio of U1000 pickups deliver big tone. A Tuneomatic bridge, Stopbar tailpiece, and sealed tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is classic black and is set off by chrome hardware and tons of binding and inlay. Cool attention to detail including the open book headstock and split diamond inlay. 90s Kid's Japan Custom Shop Brian May Red Special! $1599.99 Wow! One of the hardest to find Brian May Red Special replicas! Never heard of Kid's? I hadn't either until I get obsessed with the Red Special. Evidentially the Kid's Brian May was one of the only Brian May replicas available in the 90s. Unfortunately you could only buy them in Japan. Started by luthier Hiroshi Kido, the Kid's Custom Shop built other rare guitars. I found this quote HERE: "One man started Kid’s with a desire to make the most amazing one-off guitars in the history of the Japanese guitar market. He used woods that are next to impossible to get (my gold Lenny Kravitz Flying V replica has real Korina wood) on many of his models. He made Gibson, Fender and Zemaitis replicas and custom one-off guitars as well. His guitars are regarded by the Japanese as one of the best and most rare brands of all Japanese vintage guitars." Pretty ringing endorsement! This red special is a cool replica of Brian's Old Lady. Typical Japanese attention to detail and good quality. The body looks to be mahogany. The mahogany neck features an ebony fingerboard with dot inlays. A trio of TriSonic style pickups are hooked to phase and on/off switches.
