The quintessential jazz and blues workhorse! The Gibson ES-175 has been a favorite of players since 1949. It's hard to beat its warm and mellow tone and gorgeous looks. The hollow body is made from laminated figured maple for good resonance and resistance to feedback. The maple neck features a 24.75 inch scale bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. Dual patent number stamped pickups deliver classic tone. The tuners have been upgraded to Schallers. A fancy trapeze tailpiece and floating bridge with Tuneomatic bridge round out the hardware. The finish is a gorgeous vintage natural blonde lacquer that really accentuates the beauty of the wood. Very attractive color. Set off by gorgeous chrome hardware. A classic guitar and essential for any guitar arsenal.

This ES-175 plays great and has nice tone. The neck is straight and the frets are dressed low but play fine. The pickups are warm and articulate and deliver great jazz, blues and rockabilly sounds. Everything works as it should. This is a solid 32 year old guitar. It shows normal wear, scratches, checking, dents and dings. There are added strap button holes from a recessed locking strap system that was added. There's also a little discoloration and residue on the back perhaps from something being spilled on it. It possibly could be buffed out and you have to angle the guitar to see it.  No cracks, breaks or repairs. Still a great looking guitar with cool vibe. Comes in original hardshell case with a semi functional handle.

It's hard to argue with the tone of a great archtop. Warm and articulate. The ES-175 is considered by many to be one of the best. A new one will set you back a whopping $4149 in superstores. Wow! How about a vintage one for less?
