2001 Gretsch 6114 New Jet! SOLD! Click any picture for supersize view! The Gretsch New Jet combines the classic Duo Jet package with some modern touches to create a guitar that many would call a Les Paul killer! Top notch made in Japan quality, many players would prefer the feel, playability, craftsmanship and tone to a USA Gibson or Fender. Excellent specs throughout. The body is chambered mahogany for good tone. The top is gorgeous flame maple. The 24.5 inch scale mahogany neck features a bound ebonized rosewood fingerboard with humpblock inlays. A duo of TV JONES Dual Filtertron humbuckers deliver big tone. A G cut tailpiece, Tuneomatic bridge and sealed tuners round out the hardware. the finish is a gorgeous amber natural. A very cool guitar for anyone looking for classic looks, tone and feel. Like most recent Gretsch guitars, this New Jet plays and sounds nice. The neck is straight, the action is low and the frets show some light wear. A nice player. The TV Jones pickups sound great delivering classic Gretsch sparkle but also the chunk of a traditional humbucker. A nice sounding and versatile guitar. This is a solid used guitar. There's a small piece of binding missing at the top of the headstock. A good repairperson could make that go away easily. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches as well as some indents and minor dings. Some corrosion on the hardware. Still nice looking. Comes in original hardshell case. Gretsch no longer offer the New Jet. A shame really as these were nice guitars that offered a lot more vintage vibe than your average Les Paul. A regular Duo Jet will set you back $2149 at the superstores. Here's a very unique guitar for less. ST#SG8X1MIJ017114-222XXXXX112411 |
