Gibson's Les Paul Classic has proven to be a popular choice among players. All of the best features of the Les Paul Standard but with hotter pickups and vintage looks. Top notch made in the USA quality and specs. The body is mahogany with a carved maple top for killer sustain. The mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays. Hot 500T and 498R pickups dish out big tone. A Tuneomatic bridge, Stopbar tailpiece and Kluson style tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is a gorgeous Honeyburst lacquer. A great Les Paul!
This Les Paul plays great and has nice tone. The slim 60s neck is straight, the frets are good and the action is low. The pickups are hot and offer big time tone. Everything works as it should. A nice Les Paul. Condition wise, this is a nice used instrument. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches as well as some light indents and dings and hardware corrosion. Still very good looking. Comes in a Gibson hardshell case.
The Les Paul Classic is one of the best used guitar deals out there. All of the looks and tones of the more expensive Les Paul Standard. Gibson no longer offers the Classic. The closest comparison is the new Les Paul Traditional. A new Les Paul Standard Traditional will cost you $2299 at the superstores. Save some cash on this nice used example.
