It's hard to beat a Les Paul Junior as a killer rock guitar. Stripped to only the essentials for tone, the LP Junior excels at a variety of genres. This example is one of the rarely seen 90s reissues. Good quality and made in the USA too. The body is made from Honduras mahogany for killer sustain. The one piece mahogany features a rosewood fingerboard with mini trapezoid inlays. The pickup is, I believe, a P-100 as it sounds like a P-90 but isn't as noisy. A Tuneomatic bridge, Stopbar tailpiece, and Grover mini Rotomatic tuners round out the package. The finish is a solid TV Yellow lacquer. If you dig look and tone of a vintage Les Paul JR but can’t handle the price tag, this could be your guitar!
This Les Paul has typical Gibson feel. Nice neck with low action. The pickups sound great with tons of sustain and growl. This is a nice used guitar. It has been very well taken care of for its age. It shows light to moderate pick, clearcoat, and belt scratches as well as some light indents. Comes in an aftermarket hardshell case with one busted latch.
This is a nice USA made Gibson at an affordable price. $839 will buy you a new Junior in the superstores but that's in a cheaper satin finish. There doesn't seem to be anything in a gloss finish Jr until you get into a pricey Custom Shop model. Here's one for a lot less.
