1999 Fender American Series Ash Body Stratocaster with Upgrades! SOLD! Click any picture for supersize view! Classic ash body tones with cool upgrades! Fender has made many player-centric upgrades to their American instruments over the years. Vintage looks and modern playability. The body is ash for good tone. This is a pricey upgrade if bought new. The 25.5 inch scale maple neck features a 9.5 inch radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. The pickups have been upgraded to a set of Fender Samarium Cobalt Noiseless units. Vintage tone without the hum. The original pickups are included. A 2 point trem offers smooth whammy action while sealed tuners keep it solid. This example is finished in natural with some gorgeous wood grain. A great Strat that's ready for the player! Thanks to a big frets and a flatter fingerboard, American Series Strats generally play great. Bends are easy and playability is excellent. The neck is straight and the action is low on this one. The pickups sound great and everything works as it should. Condition wise, this one is a good used guitar. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches as well as a few indents. The back of the neck shows some checking, a common malady of Strats in this era. Comes in a Fender molded hardshell case. Fender's new prices seem to go up every year. A new American Standard will set you back a whopping $999 in stores. And you can't get this cool natural finish anymore. The SCN pickups are an additional $149 plus the labor cost for installation. Here's a great way to get an awesome guitar at a great price! ST#SG9X1/USAN9426333XX112411 |
