A very cool Explorer in hard to find natural! It really cops the look of the 76 models but also has a very 58 Korina vibe as well. Solid mahogany body for excellent sustain. Solid mahogany neck with a slim taper and a rosewood fingerboard for easy playability. The bridge pickup is a hot 500T at the bridge and a 496R at the neck delivers big tone. Nashville Tuneomatic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece for rock solid tone. Grover Rotomatic tuners. The finish is a cool natural lacquer and is set off by gold hardware. Rock guitars don't get much cooler than an Explorer!
This Explorer has good feel and nice tone. The slim taper neck is straight and the action is good. The pickups are loud and powerful. This is a nicely taken care of guitar. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches, some light indents, one small ding on the headstock edge and light gold fade. Overall, a very nice looking instrument. Comes in original hardshell case.
A Gibson Explorer is a legendary instrument. Classic lines and powerful tone. A new one would cost you $1399 in the superstores and you can't get natural anymore. Buy a used one and save some dough! This is as cool as it gets without mortgaging your house for an original 50’s (or even a 70s model the way prices are going) example!
