I’ve long been impressed with the feel and overall quality of Fender’s Standard Series. Many players would say they rival the playability and tone of the much more expensive Custom Shop guitars. Fender's newest American Standards have even more improvements. Rolled fingerboard edges, thinner finishes and upgraded hardware are the trademarks of Fender's newest American Standards. Good specs and attention to detail equal a great guitar. The body is alder for good tone. The modern C shaped maple neck features a 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard with 21 frets. A duo of Alnico V magnet single coils are hooked to a 3 way switch for classic tones. The American Standard string through bridge features a brass plate and bent steel saddles for improved tone and sustain. Sealed tuners keep it rock solid. This example is finished in sunburst and is set off by a white pickguard and chrome hardware. A great looking guitar and a solid value!

The American Standard series is made to be played. The big frets and flat radius mean easy playability and bends. The neck is straight on this one and the frets are good. The pickups deliver a variety of tones. Everything works as it should. This is a nice used guitar. Clean showing light pick and clearcoat scratches as well as some light indents. A nice example. Comes in original hardshell case.

I get a lot of guitars in stock and the American Standard Series has long been one of my favorites. Great value and performance. The newest American Standards are some of the finest guitars Fender has made outside of the Custom Shop. A new American Standard will cost you $999 in the superstores. Save some cash.
