2003 Fender American Stratocaster HSS! SOLD! Click any picture for supersize view! It's hard to beat an American Strat. Here's one with the added versatility of a factory humbucker! Fender has made many player-centric upgrades to their American instruments over the years. Vintage looks and modern playability. The body is alder for good tone. The 25.5 inch scale maple neck features a 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. A Fender Diamondback humbucker teams with 2 hot Texas Special single coils for a variety of tones. The S-1 switching system adds even more versatility. A 2 point trem offers smooth whammy action while sealed tuners keep it solid. This example is finished in classic butterscotch blonde and is set off by a black pickguard. It doesn't get much cooler than that! Thanks to a big frets and a flatter fingerboard, American Series Strats generally play great. Bends are easy and playability is excellent. The neck is straight and the action is good on this one. The pickups sound great and everything works as it should. Condition wise, this one is for a player, not a collector. It shows moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as some dents and dings. Some paint chips evident, the worst visible on the forearm. Cool vibe for a player. Comes in an aftermarket hardshell case. Fender's new prices seem to go up every year. A new American Standard will set you back a whopping $1049 in stores. You can no longer get the cool butterscotch blonde color. Here's one for a lot less. |
