The Taylor T5 is a godsend for performers looking for both acoustic and electric tones in one package. A highly innovative design that compromises very little sonically whether plugged into a guitar amp or PA. Made in the USA to Taylor's high standards, this T5 Standard is sure to delight the eyes as well as the ears. A thinline hollow sapele body delivers oomph while a solid walnut top adds acoustic zing. This walnut top was special ordered and makes this particular guitar very rare. The mahogany neck features a bound ebony fingerboard with delicate dot inlays. Taylors innovative electronics combine a magnetic acoustic humbucker, magnetic electric humbucker, a dynamic body sensor and a state of the art preamp. These gadgets equal up to an incredibly well balanced tone whether playing acoustic sounds or rocking electric. Sealed Taylor branded tuners an ebony bridge, a bone nut and saddle keep it all rock solid. The transparent finish is set off by white binding and chrome hardware. A great guitar!
Like most Taylors, this T5 plays and sounds great. The neck is straight, the action is good and the frets are fine. The pickups deliver an amazing array of sounds. Everything works as it should. This is a solid used guitar. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches as well as some indents. The original owner painted "V/B/T" on each of the knobs for easier identification. Nothing major. Comes in original hardshell case.
This is a wonderful instrument for live performers or studio musicians. A lot of versatility in this guitar for a variety of styles. A new Taylor T5 Standard will cost you $1999 in the superstores and you won't get the cool walnut top. Here's a nice used one for a lot less.
