The Gretsch 6120N combines the classic Nashville package with some cool touches to create a guitar that many would call a Gibson killer! Top notch made in Japan quality, many players would prefer the feel, playability, craftsmanship and tone to a USA Gibson or Fender. Excellent specs throughout. The semi hollow body is made of laminated maple and features a solid maple center block for enhanced sustain and feedback resistance. The 24.6 inch scale maple neck features a bound ebonized rosewood fingerboard with humpblock inlays. A duo of Filtertron humbuckers deliver big tone. A Bigsby tailpiece, Tuneomatic bridge and sealed tuners round out the hardware. The finish is classic Gretsch orange and is set off by gold hardware. A very cool guitar for anyone looking for classic looks, tone and feel.
Like most recent Gretsch guitars, this 6120 plays and sounds nice. The neck is straight, the action is low and the frets are good. A nice player. The pickups sound great delivering classic Gretsch sparkle but also the smoothness of a traditional humbucker. A nice sounding and versatile guitar. This is a nice used guitar. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches as well as a little corrosion on the hardware. Very good looking. Comes in a TKL hardshell case.
Gretsch no longer offer the 6120N. A shame really as these were nice guitars that offered a lot more vintage vibe than your average hollowbody. A regular 6120 will set you back $2275 at the superstores. Here's a very unique guitar for less.
