Italian cool! The 1960s guitar boom introduced many musical instrument manufacturers to the world of electric guitars. After the Beatles, demand for electric guitars was so high that many companies known for accordions began building six strings. You can see accordion DNA in their designs thanks to wild sparkle finishes and push button controls. Eko was a company on the move in the 60s. By the 50s, the writing was on the wall and the Eko company began pursuit of the growing guitar business. Eko would grow in the following years and go on to produce cool designs like the Rocket, Auriga, and Barracuda. They would also end up building many of the Vox guitars and had also expanded into effects pedals, wah wahs, drums, organs, and amplifiers. This Eko 500 4V is a great example of the breed. Sparkle finished with cool spaghetti western tones. This example is ready to play. Four single coil pickups are hooked to six switches for a variety of tones. The sparkle finish contrasts nicely with tortoise colored plastic. A great example of Italian style!

This is a great playing and sounding guitar! We just refretted it for great playability. Unfortunately, many vibey guitars of this era suffer from neglect or indifferent dealers that try to sell on looks alone. This one was set up to play. The pickups deliver a ton of sounds. Lots of tones from bright and stinging to warm and fuzzy are here. The switches show some intermittent scratchiness but are functional. Normal stuff for one of these. This is a well taken care of instrument.  It shows moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches and some indents. The truss rod cover looks to have been replaced. Trem arm is MIA. Still very nice looking with normal playwear. Comes in a gigbag.

If you're looking for a vintage guitar with tons of vibe and good feel, look no further. Killer looks and good playability thanks to a pro refret. This is a very cool guitar for not a lot of vintage dollars. Why buy an Eastwood when you can have a real 60s guitar?

SOLD!
