Looking to step up from your Burns or Brian May Signature? Have a look at this RS Guitars Classic. A great tribute to Brian's original Old Lady! More accurate than many of the replicas with made in the USA quality. The body is chambered mahogany with an oak insert for that authentic tone. The mahogany neck features a dot inlaid fingerboard. A trio of Burns Trisonic pickups are hooked to on/off and phase switches. The secret to the sound is in the series wiring and the phase switch options. Very unique tones! Sperzel locking tuners, a roller bridge and knife edge trem keep it rock solid. The finish is cherry red transparent and is set off by black plastic and chrome hardware. This guitar is a great upgrade from the easier to find Burns models. Fairly rare, these guitars seldom come up for sale. Here's your chance to grab a nice one.
Holy smokes, what a big neck. I know Brian's original had a baseball bat but jeez, this thing is huge. The next time you're talking to some guy that says he likes his guitars to have a beefy neck, hand him this. All that said, it's very comfortable, and I'm not even a big neck fan. I can get around on it fine and it encourages good technique. I can't help but think the monster Louisville Slugger adds to the tone and sustain. And this guitar has got that in spades. The pickups sound awesome and deliver everything from smooth and creamy to clear and bright. Really very versatile. Condition wise, this is a nice used instrument. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches. Very good looking. Comes in original hardshell case.
I'm a huge fan of the Red Special. I have two Guild BHMs in my personal stash and I'm always on the hunt for more. This RS guitar is a bit more accurate representation of the original and would make a great addition to any collection. Even if you aren't a Queen fan, you'll love the amazing variety of tones and the unique timber of these instruments. I've never owned a guitar that sits so well in a mix. An indispensable tool for me. This RS could be the guitar that will start you on your Red Special obsession.
