Here’s the Holy Grail for many guitar players! The 1959 Les Paul is considered by many to be the pinnacle of tone and craftsmanship. The Gibson Custom Shop has continually made improvements to their line of reissues to produce some of the best 59 replicas, not to mention a few of the finest guitars in the world. Incredible quality and attention to detail. The non weight relived body is one piece mahogany for incredible sustain. The book matched flame maple top features the authentic 50’s contour. This example has a sweet curly top with hints of quilt. Very nice. The one piece mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with correct shape trapezoid fingerboard inlays. Holly headstock veneer. Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups deliver killer PAF tone. CTS pots and bumblebee caps. Lightweight Stopbar Tailpiece, ABR-1 Tuneomatic bridge and tulip button Kluson style tuners keep it rock solid. An amazing amount of research went into this incredible recreation. About as accurate as it gets. The nitro lacquer faded Tobacco Sunburst finish looks incredibly accurate. The Vintage Original Spec (VOS) treatment gives it a slightly aged look. This is as close as it gets for mere mortals. Incredible tone and feel not to mention amazing quality.
The Custom Shop turns out some incredible guitars and this R9 is no exception. Factory PLEK’d for killer playability, these Lesters have incredible feel. The 1959 profile neck is nice and beefy and the new for 2010 neck shapes are even more accurate as compared to the originals. The tone is superlative as well. The Burstbuckers sound great with nice tone and good articulation. This is a great looking guitar too. It has the VOS finish which means it already has an aged look. It has the vibe of a lightly used guitar thanks to a factory dulled finish, aged hardware and light scratches. A cool look! This guitar is in New Old Stock condition. Almost zero playtime and showing only the slightest shopwear. As clean or cleaner than many guitar being sold as new in stores. Comes in original hardshell case with certificate.
Gibson’s Les Paul reissues are incredible guitars. Awesome tones, looks and quality. A new R9 will set you back $5699 in stores. Why not save some cash on a nice New Old Stock one?
