Epiphone’s Masterbilt series offers incredible solid wood construction, golden age appointments and awesome tone at an unbelievable price. Some of the nicest and most player friendly Epi acoustics I’ve seen in years! Top notch materials throughout. The top is solid spruce while the back and sides are solid maple for killer tone and projection. The front and back of the traditional Dreadnought size body are bound. The 25.5 inch scale maple set neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with cool split diamond inlays. Gold plated Grover Sta-Tites keep it rock solid. The finish is a matte natural satin that looks very vintage but also lets all of the tone out. A great guitar for the bucks. If you’re considering a Guild GAD series, Blueridge, Morgan Monroe or other similar guitar, this Epi deserves some serious consideration!
I’ve been impressed by much of Epi’s recent output. Nice quality and good playability for the bucks. This DR500 is no exception. Good feeling neck with nice frets. Sweet tone and nice balance. Condition wise, this is a NEW OLD STOCK guitar. It was leftover stock from a local store and shows only light shopwear. Straight from the stockroom! As nice or nicer than most hanging in the superstores! 100% first quality, not a blem or a 2nd. Killer deal!
