1986 Gibson Custom Shop ES-355 with Super 400 Inlays! SOLD!

Wow! You don't see something like this every day! An incredibly gorgeous, perhaps one off, Gibson ES-355. The ES-355 is Gibson's top of the line semi hollowbody. This one is even more deluxe thanks to Super 400 appointments. The body is laminated maple and features a solid center block for increased sustain and resistance to feedback. The mahogany neck features a bound ebony fingerboard with Super 400 block inlays. 100% factory original and unlike any other 355 I've ever seen. Dual humbuckers are hooked to a Varitone switch and stereo jack. The stereo jack lets you send the bridge and neck pickups to separate amps. HUGE sounds! Originally equipped with a TP-6 fine tuner tailpiece, this one now sports a gold plated lightweight Stopbar. The TP-6 is included and can be installed if you prefer (pictured HERE). A Tuneomatic bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners round out the hardware. All hardware is gold plated. Continuing with the deluxe theme, the body features multiple binding and the headstock shows the trademark split diamond inlays as seen on Super 400's and Les Paul Customs as well as stock ES-355's. AN incredible Custom Shop guitar that was presumably SPECIAL ORDERED this way. As far as I remember, Gibson wasn't even offering an ES-355 at this time. Rare, rare, rare and certainly unique. Be the only cat on your block with a Super 400 ES-355!

This ES-355 plays and sounds great. The neck is straight, the action is low and the frets are good. The pickups sound awesome. The Varitone offers a variety of unusual and useful tones. Everything from BB King to classic rock to Brit pop. A special splitter cord will allow you to run the guitar in stereo opening a whole variety of sounds. A really special guitar. Condition wise, this is a fine used guitar. It shows moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as a few indents. A little gold fade as to be expected. A solid used guitar that still looks very nice. Comes in original hardshell case.

This is perhaps one of the coolest ES-355's I've ever seen. A great guitar for a player but it also would drive a collector nuts as well. It will look great next to your semi hollows or your uptown jazz boxes! A new Gibson ES-355 will cost you a wallet annihilating $4149 in the superstores. Why not buy this incredible one off for less?
