Wow! I have had a ton of Strat Plus guitars but I have NEVER, EVER seen one from the Custom Shop From the legendary John Page and Michael Stevens era, this guitar could well be one of a kind! Very early Custom Shop here folks and very collectible. E3 serial number with a 1989 neck date like many Strats of the era. A must for Strat Plus fans. The body is alder for good tone. The 25.5 inch scale maple neck features a 9.5 inch radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and dot inlays. A trio of black cover Lace Sensors dish out big tones. Seriously, when's the last time you saw factory black Lace Sensors?!? The finish is a very cool Lipstick Red shade and is set off by an upgraded chrome pickguard and a matching red headstock. Man, this thing looks cool. Original Custom Shop stamped neck pocket (click on highlighted words for pics), June 02 1989 neck stamp. Original Lace Sensors and electronics. Correct swimming pool rout with no additional routs ever. Ready for your collection!
This Strat plays and sounds great. The modern C shape neck is comfortable. The frets show some wear but play fine. the action is good. A nice guitar. The Lace Sensor pickups clear and powerful and great with effects. A cool modern yet retro guitar. Condition wise. this is a nice used guitar. it shows some normal wear and tear as you would expect from a 20 year old instrument. Moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as some dents and dings. Normal finish cracks/checks at neck joint. Normal for this vintage and completely stable. Still a nice looking instrument. Comes in Fender hardshell case.
This is an outrageously cool and rare instrument. Perhaps one of a kind and an incredible addition to your collection. I'm a huge Strat Plus fan so this was a cool find for me. A new Custom Shop Strat will cost well over $2000. Here's a 20 year old super rare guitar for less!
