Modern looks with classic Martin tone and workmanship! The Alternative X is not your father's guitar. Space age with many advanced features. The 00 Grand Concert shaped body is made of Martin's advanced HPL material while the top is aluminum. The aluminum top features a machine turned design that looks killer. The 25.4 inch scale neck is made of Martin's Stratabond material and features a Micarta fingerboard. A Micarta bridge and sealed tuners keep it rock solid. Unique features include an aluminum headstock overlay and black hardware. Built in Fishman electronics deliver plugged in tones. The result is an advanced acoustic guitar with surprisingly cool and unique tone. Incredibly stable too, the Alternative X will withstand weather changes much better than traditional instruments. A very hip guitar that is both innovative and exciting in tone and looks!
Like most Martins, this Alternative X has good feel and tone. The neck is straight. The action is low and the frets are fine. The acoustic voice is strong with a pronounced upper mid range. Very cool. The plugged in tone is nice. Everything works as it should. This is a nice used guitar. It shows light pick scratches and normal playwear. Very well taken care of. Comes in original hardshell case.
I like innovation in guitars. If you get a better instrument and a lower price, how can you argue? This Martin delivers a lot for the bucks. A new one will cost you $899 at the superstores. Here's a nice used one for a lot less.
