The SG Standard has been the choice of rockers for decades. Here's one that's nearly 30 years old and has great vibe! The choice of punks, classic rockers, metal dudes and blues men for decades, it's hard to beat an SG.  Double cutaway, bevelled mahogany body for great tone. The mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. Dual humbuckers deliver killer tone. A Stopbar tailpiece, Tuneomatic bridge and original Schaller Gibson tuners keep it rock solid. This example is finished in classic cherry red lacquer and set off by chrome hardware. Cool early 60s looks and nice vintage tones.

This is a good feeling and sounding SG. The neck is straight and has nice action.. The pickups sound great and everything works as it should. This is a nice used guitar showing wear that you would expect after nearly 30 years of use. It's marked as a 2nd but most every Gibson from this era was. Like most of them, I can find no possible reason it was marked as such. It shows some stand rash on the headstock. Moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as some dents and dings. Nothing major. No breaks ever. A solid old guitar. Comes in an newer aftermarket hardshell case.

Late 70s and early 80s SG's aren't nearly as common on the used market. Especially compared to Les Pauls. This is a nice example with a cool early 60s vibe at a nice price. A new 61 reissue will cost you $1999 at the superstores. This one is priced lower and has cooler vibe.
