2006 Gibson Custom Shop EDS-1275! SOLD! Click any picture for supersize view! Doubleneck madness! Obviously you can play "Stairway" on this one but the EDS-1275 offers so much more! Page got a lot of mileage on his using it on the Song Remains the Same concert film but other folks coaxed some sounds out of these beasts as well. John McLaughlin used one on the Miles Davis Bitches Brew album. Ace Frehley would sometimes leave both necks on to capture sympathetic string vibrations on a few Kiss songs. Alex Lifeson had a lovely white one. Even the Eagles got in on the act using one on Hotel California. With its roots in the original hollowbody 50s EDS doublenecks, the EDS-1275 brings to mind hot country pickers like Joe Maphis and Grady Martin as well. You just can't beat 2 necks! Made in limited numbers by Gibson's Custom Shop, the EDS-1275 is a top flight instrument. The body is solid mahogany for good tone. Both necks are made of 3 piece maple for excellent tuning stability and durability. Both fretboards are bound rosewood with trapezoid inlays. Each neck features a set of Gibson 409R/498T humbuckers for classic tone. Tuneomatic bridges and Kluson style tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is classic cherry red lacquer set off by chrome hardware. An icon of rock guitar! This EDS-1275 is sure to please classic rock fans as well as anyone looking for some new sounds in their tone toolbox. The guitar plays well with nice action and good feel. The pickups sound great offering tons of tone and versatility. The dual necks offer the ability to switch from jangly Byrds/Beatles/Petty to big time rock. A cool combo. This is a nice used guitar. It shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches. Well taken care of. Comes in original hardshell case with certificate. No collection is complete without an EDS-1275. Versatile in tone and offering a cool rock and roll look. A new one will cost you a whopping $3799 in stores if you can find one. Gibson makes these in very limited quantities. Here's your chance to grab a nice used one for a whole lot less. |
