1986 Fender Jazz Bass Special with Upgraded EMG pickups! SOLD! Click any picture for supersize view! Looking for a great bass at a good price? This Fender Jazz Bass Special may fit the ticket! Made in Japan to the usual high standards of quality. Many players prefer the craftsmanship, feel and attention to detail of Fender's Japanese stuff over the American made stuff. This unique bass is a hybrid of a Precision and a Jazz with a cool, modern look. Why they called it a Jazz Bass, I'll never understand but either way, it's a cool bass. The P shaped body is probably made of basswood judging by its weight and snappy, punchy tone. The 34 inch scale Jazz style neck features a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. The pickups have been upgraded to a set of powerful EMGs. Nice, clear tone. Vintage style tuners and an upgraded Bad Ass bridge keep it rock solid. The color is a unique metallic silver/green set off by a factory black neck and headstock. Very cool look that would be perfect for the stage. A hip bass at a great price! This bass has nice feel and tone. The neck is straight, the action is good and the frets are fine. the EMG pickups deliver clear, piano like sustain. The Bas Ass bridge adds to the sustain and keeps this bass rock solid. You would be hard pressed to find a bass better for the bucks. Condition wise, this one would be cool for a player. It shows moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as some dents and dings. Not for a collector type. Comes in a gigbag. This would make a fine addition to any musicians arsenal. Cool looks and great tone. Excellent quality too. All at a great price. Japanese Fenders have been hot among players for years and have steadily increased in price. Why buy a no name? Grab a real Fender at a good price. |
