Here's a great Strat from Fender's Pro Tone series. Word on the street was that the Squier Pro Tone series was so good that it was cutting into sales of Fender's USA Strats. Fender discontinued them soon after their introduction and the legend among players has continued to grow.  Similar to Squiers recent and very highly regarded Vintage Vibe series, these guitars offer cool vintage looks and outrageous bang for the buck. The body is solid ash for good tone. The 25.5 inch scale maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets. A trio of good sounding Alnico single coil pickups deliver classic Strat tone. A vintage style trem (with Fender saddles!) and sealed tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is Olympic White and is set off by a red shell pickguard and a matching white headstock. A really cool guitar for not a lot of bucks!

This Pro Tone plays and sounds very good for the money.  Vintage style frets for easy chording. the pickups have big clear tone. Everything works as it should. Very nice guitar. This is a very nice 13 year old guitar. It looks to have had very little playtime. Super duper clean showing only very, very light playwear. Comes in an aftermarket hardshell case.

The Squier Pro Tone series was short lived but showed that players wanted a guitar with vintage vibe at a low price. Pro Tone owners rave about how good these guitars are for the buck and you certainly can't argue with the looks! A great guitar that won't cost you an arm and a leg.
