1978 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail! SOLD! Click any picture for supersize view! Here's a cool vintage Strat that won't break the bank! 70's Fenders have been coming on strong in recent years. With 50s and 60s Fenders costing as much as a new car, 70's Strats look like a downright bargain! This 32 year old beauty is ready to rock with all of the coolest features of the era. Ash body for that bright airy tone. The maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard and big headstock with bullet truss rod adjustment. Hardtail bridge and F tuners round out the original hardware. Hardtail Strats are noted for their powerful tone and sustain. A little bit of Tele bite mixed in with the Strat DNA! The finish is classic sunburst and is set off by black plastic. This one would be great for a player. The pickups (click highlighted words for pics) have been upgraded to Custom Shop Texas Specials and the electronics have been changed as well. No routs ever under the pickguard. 1978 date stamp inside. A good combo of rosewood neck and sunburst finish makes this one more desirable than your run of the mill 70s Strat. A great player's guitar! This Strat sound and plays great. Nice, comfy neck and good action. Frets are good. The pickups sound great and everything works as it should. A great Strat. Condition wise, this one is cleaner than most Strats of this era. It shows moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches. Some indents and playwear. One spot of buckle wear through the finish on the back. Very nice for its age. Comes in a 70s black Tolex Fender hardshell case. 70's Fenders are practically a bargain on the vintage market. I've watched them steadily increase in price in recent years. Many dealers are asking $2500 and up for similar models. This one is priced for the player. |
