Honoring one of music's biggest legends, the Burns Hank Marvin guitar defines cool. Back in 1963, Hank met with Jim Burns to begin designing his own signature model. Built to his specifications, the Burns Marvin became identified with one of the greatest UK groups. Marvin, along with the Shadows, would become legends around the world. This reissue model captures the vibe of those original guitars. The body is made of American alder for great tone. The neck is Canadian hard rock maple and features a bound maple fingerboard with dot inlays. A trio of the famous Burns (Rez-O-Matic pickups, wound to the original specs and using USA Alnico magnets, are hooked to a 5 way switch and unique push pull pot. An incredibly cool Burns Rez-O-Tube vibrato system offers cool whammy action. Locking Sperzel tuners keep it rock solid. This example is finished in a very cool and vintage fiesta red. This hip hue is set off by a retro mint pickguard. A very cool looking guitar with great build quality. An incredible tribute to one of the masters of guitar.
This Burns guitar has great feel and good tone. The neck is comfortable, the action is low and the frets are well dressed. The pickups sound excellent and have awesome sparkle and clarity. Lots of versatility. Everything works as it should. This is a super clean guitar too. It only shows some light pick scratching and one small indent under the trem arm. Very nice. Comes in original snakeskin case with tool kit and polishing cloth.
This guitar is extremely difficult to find in the US. If you're a Yankee, this may be your best bet to grab one. Great quality, superior in my opinion to the already excellent Burns Club Series. Incredible looks and tons of rich tones. How can you beat it? Again, you may not see another one come up for sale stateside.
