Looking for a great USA MADE Dobro at a great price? The Hound Dog may fit the bill! USA made by Gibson, the Hound Dog offers good quality at an affordable price! The body is made of figured laminated maple. Have a look at the gorgeous wood grain! The square neck is made of maple with a rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. A Fishman pickups lets you plug in. The spider resonator features a fan coverplate. The hardware is nickel plated for cool vintage looks. The finish is walnut satin lacquer. It gives a great vintage look and lets the tone out. It looks as though the USA built Hound Dog models have been discontinued in favor of Asian imports. This may be your best bet in a real Dobro!
This Dobro has nice tone and good feel. Nice volume and tone with no rattles or noise. A great addition to your arsenal. Condition wise, this one shows some normal playwear. Some light pick and clear scratches as well as some corrosion on the hardware. A cool vibe that will only get better in years. Comes in a gig bag.
It’s tough to find a well made resonator at a good price. The Hound Dog series were one of the best values out there. It’s been awhile, but I think they were selling for a little under 1000.00 new. This one’s is priced even lower and is ready to go. What are you waiting for?
