2005 Ibanez AK75 Artcore with UPGRADES! SOLD! Click any picture for supersize view! I’ve been greatly impressed by the Artcore Series for its incredible bang for the buck. Nice playing and sounding guitars for the money and a great platform for mods. This LIMITED EDITION AK75 is no exception. The fully hollow body is made from laminated maple (the top actually sounds like spruce to me, nice and warm. But the specs say maple so that’s what I’m going with) for a nice big tone. The 24.75 inch scale mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with 22 large frets. Pearl block inlays adorn the fingerboard for a classy look. This example has been upgraded with a nickel covered SEYMOUR DUNCAN 59 humbucker at the bridge. A great sounding pickup with nice mids. The original and hot Ibanez ACH1 PAF style humbucker resides at the neck. An art deco tailpiece, floating wooden bridge and sealed tuners keep everything solid. This one sports a cool all gold finish reminiscent of a 50’s Gibson ES-295. A really cool jazzbox for the budget Scotty Moore fan, this one is dripping with vibe! Like most every Artcore I’ve had in stock, this Ibanez has good tone and feel. The neck is straight and the action is good. The pickups sound excellent and the tone is nice. The pickups are wired out of phases in the middle position for a funky almost Fender sound. Pretty cool. Condition wise this one is nice. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches. It has one finish crack/ding. No big deal. No pickguard. Comes in original Ibanez Hardshell case. As this model was a limited edition, it is no longer available in stores. If you want the cool looks of a Gibson style gold finish and a great price, this may be a great choice! Keep in mind that the Duncan pickup would cost you $70.00 plus another $90.00 for the hardshell case. This one is definitely a good deal! |
