Click any picture for supersize view! When I think vintage dreadnought, the Martin HD-28V is what pops into my mind. All of the best cosmetic and tonal enhancing features of the greatest D style guitars made! Built in the USA using the best materials, the D-28's are great instruments. The top is solid Sitka spruce while the back and sides are solid Indian rosewood for great tone and projection. Forward shifted, scalloped bracing delivers a big voice. Bold Herringbone binding gives this instrument a vintage look. The 25.4 inch scale mahogany neck features an ebony fingerboard with diamond and square inlays. A vintage style bridge and open back, vintage style tuners complete the picture. The finish is a gorgeous natural gloss with an ambered top for an authentic pre war look. An incredible guitar! Thanks to a comfy modified V shaped neck, this D-28 plays great. Great feel and very nice action. The neck is straight and the frets are good. A great sounding instrument with a big voice. This is a nice used guitar. It shows light pick and clearcoat wear as well as light to moderate belt wear. Nothing major. Comes in original hardshell case. This is one of my favorite production models from Martin combining great build quality with excellent looks and tone. A great instrument for rock, bluegrass or country. Definitely the standard by which other guitars are judged. A new HD-28V will cost you $3099.00 at the superstores. Grab a used one and save big. |
