1966 Fender Mustang! SOLD!

Click any picture for supersize view!

Fender’s Mustang has always been one of the coolest vintage guitars out there! Unique looks and easy playability. This 1966 model has all of the quality and top notch materials of its Stratocaster and Telecaster big brothers! The body is alder for good weight and tone. The maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 22 vintage frets. The famous Dynamic Tremolo offers smooth vibrato action. Plastic button Klusons and a 6 saddle bridge keep it all solid. Dual single coil pickups (very similar in design to Strat pickups) dish out sweet vintage tone. A sweet custom color Dakota red lacquer finish completes the picture. September 1966 neck date (click highlighted words for more pics), correct neck pocket, and neck heel,  original date coded pickups, absolutely no routs, original solder joints, electronics, and 66 pots. The original neck plate is missing and it has a plain one in place. A great Mustang!

This Mustang has nice feel and unique tone. The frets are good and the neck is straight. The pickups work and sound great. A cool 42 year old Fender. Condition wise, this one is in average condition for a vintage guitar that’s been played its whole life. It shows checking, scratches, dents, chips and dings as you would expect from this vintage. Still solid with no repairs or issues. A nice guitar. Comes in a 70s Mustang case.

Sixties Fenders are pretty much made of unobtainium for many players. A Strat or Tele from this era would cost about as much as a new economy car. The Mustangs are a great value as they offer similar quality along with a distinctly Fender-ish tone at a great price. Many vintage dealers are charging 1800-2000.00 for Mustangs of this vintage. My price is better.
