If you grew up on Les Pauls and want to get into the world of Paul Reed Smith, the SC 245 may be just the guitar for you! Designed with traditional players in mind, this guitar has many classic features not found on other PRS products. The body is slightly thicker like a Les Paul for a fatter tone. The scale length is shorter for a vintage feel. The pickups are vintage styled with lower output for a sweet tone. The appointments are more vintage too. A great guitar. The 24.5 inch scale mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard with gorgeous bird inlays. Dual SC 245 pickups (wound just for this guitar) deliver authentic vintage tones. A PRS stop tailpiece and vintage style tuners keep it all rock solid. This example is finished in gorgeous Blue Matteo. It highlights the beauty of the wood very well. This PRS plays great and sounds awesome. The wide /fat neck is comfortable and very familiar to most players. The action is low, the frets are good and the neck is straight. The pickups sound wonderful producing a killer vintage tone. Everything works as it should. Condition wise, this is a nice used guitar. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches. Normal playwear. Nothing too bad. The original included case has a bruise that is visible by clicking HERE.
This is a great guitar that combines PRS innovation with classic tradition. A wonderful guitar for a player. Incredible USA made quality and attention to detail. Expect to pay over $3000.00 for one of these in stores with the 10 top and birds. My price is much, much better on this nice, used example.
