1960 Supro Val Trol Silverwood! SOLD

A few months back I had a vintage Silverwood almost exactly like this one. It sold quickly and found a happy owner in Florida, I’m quite lucky to offer another one to my customers! Vintage Supros, Nationals and Airlines are coming on strong in the vintage market and this Silverwood is a great example of the breed. A really great example of what Valco was putting out in the late 50s and early 60s. The body is chambered wood for good tone, NOT plastic or fiberglass. It makes a big difference. The neck is actually straight and features a rosewood board with pearl block inlays. Dual screaming single coil pickups deliver screaming tone. This one even has the rare 1960 only variant bridge pickup! An undersaddle pickup pumps out some mellow sounds and its all controlled by a 3 way switch. Tons of knobs and other wackiness. This example is finished in a cool natural blonde. Really cool in a TV Yellow kind of way. An incredible guitar that's 10 times more unique but has just as many useful tones as many Fenders and Gibsons.
This Supro has a good feeling neck. It's actually straight, a rarity for one of these. Good frets and nice playability. The pickups sound good as well. Condition wise, this one is in good average shape for its age. It shows moderate pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as a few dents and dings. Normal and cool checking on the finish as well. Comes in original 2 tone softshell case.
Valco made guitars have been jumping in price lately as players discover their cool vibe and tone. A great alternative to the usual vintage suspects, these guitars are a great value. Many vintage dealers would price this clean and solid example at around 2500.00 plus. My price is better. The last example I had didn’t last a week in stock. Don’t wait around.
