The Ibanez Artist has long been the choice of players looking for an alternative to a Les Paul at a great price. Top notch Japanese quality and workmanship throughout. Double cutaway mahogany body with a carved, flame maple top for good looks and tone. The mahogany neck features a 22 fret bound rosewood fingerboard. This example features a set of Dimarzio Super Distortions. They could be factory but may have been added. A Gibraltar Tuneomatic bridge and Quick Change stop tailpiece keep everything solid. Tuners have been upgraded to Schallers.  This example is finished in a nice cherry sunburst. It really shows off the subtle flame top. A great guitar for the bucks!

Like most Japanese guitars of the era, this guitar plays and sounds good. Nice feeling neck with low action. The pickups sound great and electronics work as they should. This is a nice looking guitar too. The front shows light to moderate pick and clearcoat scratches. The back shows some belt buckle wear. The gold shows normal fading. Very pretty guitar. Comes in a somewhat beat hardshell case.

If you’re looking for a great guitar for the buck, an Ibanez Artist may be right up your alley. Cool looks, killer tones and nice feel. I’ve watched as they have become collectible over the years. Why buy a new guitar when you can find such a cool vintage one? SOLD!
